The high school marching band competition is held each year as part of the festival. Many of the bands also march in the Grand Parade before competing with each other at the Chilhowie High School Stadium. This is the oldest continuous band festival in Virginia or Tennessee. This year marks the 71st year of the band festival. Bands can sign up for the competition by completing this form.
Admission to the band competition at the stadium is $5.00 per person. No passes of any kind are accepted since this is not a Virginia High School League event. The admission fee goes to the Chilhowie Band Boosters to help with the purchase of uniforms and other band related expenses.
