Chilhowie Apple Festival
Theme Contest

Dear Participants:

Thank you so much for your entries in our contest to determine the theme for the 2007 Chilhowie Apple Festival. We had many themes to go through, and after narrowing them down to just a few, the winners are as follows:

1st place – “Heritage of Sharing,” submitted by Jenni Kirby and Gene Toutsi. They will be the Grand Parade Marshals. They are with the Black Rooster Art Gallery in Marion and Richmond.

2nd Place – “Celebrating America’s Heritage,” submitted by Kelly, Kaylan, and Kyla Brickey of Saltville. They will receive a T-shirt and cap.

3rd Place Ties were: “Apple Festival – Best Time of the Year,” submitted by Logan Chatham; “Old Apple—New Seed,” submitted by Timmy Dennison; “Celebrating 400 Years of Virginia and 55 Years of Apples and Fun,” submitted by Araceli Pino. All three were from Chilhowie Elementary School; and “Celebrating American Traditions,” also submitted by Kelly, Kaylan, and Kyla of Saltville. They, too, will receive T-shirts and caps.

All other entries will receive an Honorable Mention Ribbon.

Again, thank you for your interest and your themes. We will keep all of the suggested themes on file for future use.
